Nestled among beautiful forests, hills, and lakes in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, Fortune Lake Lutheran Camp has been providing "a place of grace to experience and grow in faith" for people of all ages for over seventy-five years.
Our ministry is owned and operated by the congregations of the Northern Great Lakes Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America and is licensed by the Michigan Department of Social Services.
Fortune Lake believes our campers deserve the best. Therefore, we proudly display the American Camp Association logo. The camp experience is a vibrant, live-action event. To earn accreditation, our camp complies with hundreds of health, safety, and program quality standards specially developed for camps and trusted by parents and adult campers for over 50 years.
Fortune Lake's Ministry is based upon the development of meaningful relationships in every activity, stressing the importance of every individual as a beloved child of God called to live out his or her greatest potential in the midst of the community. Christian Community is at the heart of our life together as a staff and with our campers through on and off-site programs.
Campers come to learn and experience that the Gospel of Jesus Christ is relevant in today’s world and to study and practice the will of God in their daily living. Careful, prayerful, and intelligent spirit-filled leadership from the Camp Staff help and encourage the camper to return home with a spiritual rededication of their Baptismal covenant and a new purpose for continued growth in the Faith and Grace of Jesus Christ.
Fortune Lake has a long history of providing fun, creative, and inspirational camp programs. Our ministry is available to anyone seeking to know and share God’s grace. Come join us for what could be one of the best experiences of your summer and maybe your life!
